Mid term

I can not believe it is already time for midterm evaluations. I am only in my 2nd semester at HACC and it is going by so quickly. I am very pleased with my class selections and how my semester is going. Before you know it I will be at Penn State starting my Student Teaching curriculum. What an exciting time in a persons life! I am accomplishing more now with all of my other duties than I could have ever imagined!

Stress

Speaking in class was an easy way to analyze the book F451. The time came for me to write my paper and I seemed to have a writers block. We discussed so many ideas and putting it all down on paper was a struggle. There were so many good ideas and how do you pick just one. I choose to write about what the books actually symbolised. I am hoping to have an awesome presentation and think I will keep every ones focus.

Burning Bright

The conclusion to F451 was not at all what I expected or maybe it was not what I needed. Montag burning his own house and Beatty, running from the law, and taking up residence on the railroad tracks was not the ending I was looking for. I wanted to see Montag do something spectacular with his desire and passion for reading and knowledge. Well we can just hope Bradbury decides to write a sequel or maybe I should call a Hollywood producer and create my own story. LOL!
When Montag burned his own house I was a little surprised by that and then again I was not. He was not happy and when Millie left him all alone, burning the house was a way for him to have a little closure. When the Beatty turned on Montag I felt that coming. Then Montag burned him down. It was a bitter sweet ending to all of Beatty's head games with Montag.
Another shocker was the hound did not inject enough poison into Montag to kill him. He had to fend the dog off. The way the book portrayed the hound made it seem like it was a perfect robotic creature. Montag was really driven mentally and physical to beat the hound with fire. After he destroyed that hound he ran away with his poisoned leg. His quick thinking lead him to Faber and there they came up with a plan to get Montag out of the city. The clothing switch and advise Faber delivered helped Montag make it across the river and to the rail tracks which eventually lead him to the men who understood him. Once the men welcomed him they set off on a journey and Montag slowly started to remember the book of Ecclesiastes. Shorly after the city was destroyed and the men headed back towards the city. Montag may have felt he really fit in after all. Many opportunities for learning and reading were ahead.

My new path

Recently I have decided to change my major. I looked into all of my options and realized the HACC program was not a good fit. After thinking long and hard about all of my choices I decided to go into elementary education. I enjoy working with children and I have always volunteered with my childrens teachers. I had a meeting at Penn State and I feel like I am on the right path to happiness. I also took advice from a few people in my life that I respect very much! Thanks to them I have many doors opening up to me. All of these new opportunities are showing me that I am on the right path. I have never been more sure of anything in my life. I an now dual enrolled in HACC and Penn State. This is a journey I have waited to long to take. I am hoping this path leads me to success! I am looking forward to all of the changes that will be taking place in my life over the next few semesters.
